Feuilly peeks into the back room of the Musain, only to find it empty, save the tables and chairs and the floating dust that the sun, setting in the window, makes visible. Of course, his luck precisely, he thinks. He rushed straight from work in desperation to avoid being late to the meeting, only to err on the wrong side and arrive first of all. It doesn't matter so much, he thinks, taking a seat. He'll just wait for the others to arrive.

On September 22nd, 2005 05:58 am (UTC), scarletopinions commented:
"That's not the point," he argues. "Animals don't belong on tables." He grew up in the country; can you tell?
On September 22nd, 2005 06:00 am (UTC), justiceteacher replied:
"Tell them that," he says. He figures if Courfeyrac or Combeferre argues, Bahorel could always take them. "There's no animals on this table, if you'd like to sit."
On September 22nd, 2005 06:02 am (UTC), scarletopinions replied:
This earns him a grin. "Merci," he says as he sits down.
On September 22nd, 2005 06:04 am (UTC), justiceteacher replied:
"Of course." A small, fleeting smile in reply. "How are you?"
On September 22nd, 2005 06:07 am (UTC), scarletopinions replied:
Bahorel is still staring at the offending kitten. "Can't complain. And you?"
On September 22nd, 2005 06:09 am (UTC), justiceteacher replied:
"I'm well enough. Is..." He follows Bahorel's gaze. "...are you frightened of cats?"
On September 22nd, 2005 06:12 am (UTC), scarletopinions replied:
He turns to look at Feuilly, looking half amused, half offended. "I grew up on a farm, Feuilly."
On September 22nd, 2005 06:19 am (UTC), justiceteacher replied:
"Oh, right, of course," he says, glancing a bit embarrassedly at his hands. "Why the fascination, then?"
On September 22nd, 2005 11:35 am (UTC), scarletopinions replied:
"Cats belong in stables, not in cafes," he shrugs.
On September 23rd, 2005 04:50 am (UTC), justiceteacher replied:
"Maybe he plans to leave it, to catch mice," he suggests.
On September 23rd, 2005 07:20 pm (UTC), scarletopinions replied:
Bahorel snorts. "From the looks of it, he's more likely to let it sleep in his bed than leaving it here."
On September 25th, 2005 03:47 am (UTC), justiceteacher replied:
Feuilly raises an eyebrow. "Yes, well. Perhaps he's a rat problem at home." His tone suggests his high doubt of that.
On September 25th, 2005 12:16 pm (UTC), scarletopinions replied:
Bahorel can't help but laugh at this.
On September 25th, 2005 05:40 pm (UTC), justiceteacher replied:
"You can't ever tell what the fancies of these students are," he says, knowing (and hoping) Bahorel will take no offense.
On September 25th, 2005 06:23 pm (UTC), scarletopinions replied:
"Well, maybe Matthieu wouldn't mind, but can you honsetly see Enjolras sharing a flat with rodents?" he asks, still laughing.
On September 25th, 2005 06:26 pm (UTC), justiceteacher replied:
This idea earns a smile. "Certainly not. He'd lecture them."
On September 25th, 2005 07:13 pm (UTC), scarletopinions replied:
"Then again, wouldn't he do the same to a cat?"
On September 25th, 2005 07:21 pm (UTC), justiceteacher replied:
"Cats are smarter than rats, though." He pauses. "Do you think a cat would listen?"
On September 26th, 2005 10:18 pm (UTC), scarletopinions replied:
Another grin. "Cats are smart enough to never listen to anyone."
On September 27th, 2005 01:03 am (UTC), justiceteacher replied:
"Oh, but of course," he says. "That would explain why one can never teach a cat to do anything."
On September 27th, 2005 06:48 pm (UTC), scarletopinions replied:
"Indeed," he nods. "Terribly intelligent animals."
On September 27th, 2005 11:54 pm (UTC), justiceteacher replied:
"Or are they just very stubborn?"
On September 28th, 2005 02:57 pm (UTC), scarletopinions replied:
"Equally possible," he admits. "Either way, they don't belong on tables."
On September 29th, 2005 01:26 am (UTC), justiceteacher replied:
"Such logic-- I could not even try to argue."
